d&a – Conscious Consumption
Like every week, we are happy to share with you some little things that matter to our great planet.
The word "sustainable" is the highlight of the Fashion week, like never before. It looks like a cocktail with different ingredients to make it tasty to the consumers: recycling, veganism, biomaterials, carbon neutral, reuse: the combat of climate change is on the way!
Has the ecological impact of the fashion industry improved? Depending on the source, the impact of the fashion industry oscillates between 4% (Mckinsey and Global Fashion Agenda) and 10% (UN) of the global carbon emissions.
Indeed, having a sustainable model goes beyond dressing up in green like for a St Patrick party! Beside the never-ending issue of transparency, the "fast fashion" remains the main obstacle to change: cheaper, faster, shorter life circle! The fashion industry is driven by overconsumption!
This is why d&a adopted the swisstainable concept, combining quality with a long product life cycle. Let's replace over-with conscious consumption!
